Rank Brain: Google's new artificial intelligence
The days of a hand-crafted human search algorithm may soon be over. Google has announced RankBrain, a new artificial intelligence that is now processing a “very large fraction” of searches each day. On 26th October 2015 Google launched an algorithm named Rank Brain which is a part of Google “hummingbird”. Rank Brain is google’s name for a machine learning artificial intelligence (where computer can be as smart as humans) system that is used to help process it’s results. It helps in query refinement. Machine learning is where computer teaches itself how to do something rather being taught by humans.
Rank Brain is one of the “hundreds” of signals that go into an algorithm that determines what results appear on a Google search page and where they are ranked. Accortding to TechADS, we can say, Rank Brain is mainly used as a way to clarify the searches that people submit to find pages that might not have the exact words that were searched for.
The artificial intelligence of RankBrain comes in the form of mathematical entities called vectors that can be understood by computers. When presented with an unfamiliar word, RankBrain will help formulate a guess at what the query was about and filter accordingly. At Search Engine Land we took a deep dive into RankBrain and were given the following Google authored post on machine learning with some examples for those looking to learn more on the topic.
So now you may be asking yourself, When will I see this RankBrain in my results? The answer is that you most likely have already.

Indian Government gives a Rise to Digital Media Jobs & Business Opportunities
Digital India is an initiative by the Government of India to ensure that Government services are made available to citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity. It was launched on 1 July 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The initiative includes plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. Digital India has three core components. These include:
- The creation of digital infrastructure
- Delivering services digitally
- Digital literacy
A two-way platform will be created where the service providers and the consumers will benefit. The scheme will be monitored and administrated by the Digital India Advisory group which will be chaired by the Ministry of Communications and IT. It will be an inter-Ministerial initiative where all ministries and departments will offer their own services to the public: Healthcare, Education, Judicial, etc. The Public–private partnership model will be adopted selectively. In addition, there are plans to restructure the National Informatics Centre. This project is one among the top priority projects of the Modi Administration.
Some of the facilities which will be provided through this initiative are Digital Locker, e-education, e-health, e-sign and national scholarship portal. As the part of Digital India, Indian government planned to launch Botnet cleaning centers.
Team TechADS recently expressed their opinion at "India Speaks" show aired on Lok Sabha Television channel.

SEO : Know the magic behind those links...
Search engine optimization (SEO) is "the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of the traffic that you earn through the organic results in search engines," according to TechADS.
What goes into SEO?
To understand what SEO really means, let's break that sentence down and look at the parts:
- Quality of traffic. You can attract all the visitors in the world, but if they're coming to your site because Google tells them you're a resource for Apple computers when really you're a farmer selling apples, that is not quality traffic. Instead you want to attract visitors who are genuinely interested in products that you offer.
- Quantity of traffic. Once you have the right people clicking through from those search engine results pages (SERPs), more traffic is better.
- Organic results. Ads make up a significant portion of many SERPs. Organic traffic is any traffic that you don't have to pay for.
How SEO works?
You might think of a search engine as a website you visit to type (or speak) a question into a box and Google, Yahoo!, Bing, or whatever search engine you're using magically replies with a long list of links to webpages that could potentially answer your question. That's true. But have you ever stopped to consider what's behind those magical lists of links?
Here's how it works: Google (or any search engine you're using) has a crawler that goes out and gathers information about all the content they can find on the Internet. The crawlers bring all those 1s and 0s back to the search engine to build an index. That index is then fed through an algorithm that tries to match all that data with your query.
There are a lot of factors that go into a search engine's algorithm, and here's how a group of experts ranked their importance.

Cyber Security(UK and India to build cyber-security training centre)
During a visit of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi held in November 2015, Britain's prime minister David Cameron agreed to work with India to institute a cyber-security training centre. Cameron and Modi also agreed that the UK will help set up a new Indian cyber-crime unit.
In a statement, the government said that strengthening the security partnerships of the two countries with an exchange of counter-terrorism best practices, technologies and cyber-security knowledge were also topics of discussion between the two leaders.
Cameron stated at a press conference that he wants the UK to be India's “number one partner” to support the finance of Indian infrastructure improvements that Modi plans.
British and Indian companies also announced new joint efforts worth more than £9 billion. The two countries mentioned they would collaborate on clean energy in a deal worth £3.2 billion. Gartner estimated earlier this month that India's data centre market is set to be worth £1.3 billion by 2016 since their IT market is quickly growing. “With increased focus on mobility and big data activities in India, software defined networking has the highest adoption rate amongst Indian enterprises.”
